Project Description
Description
Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of subject matter and hands on commercialization strategies to support the BTI Core Team at Oregon State University from Bio ToBiz, Angie Christophersen as a sole source because of the contractor being the only provider able to meet critical parameters or timeframes to support the research and/or business needs of the university. The minimum specification needed are below:
- 20+ years of senior-level experience in life sciences, biotech, and/or biopharma
commercialization.
- Expertise in market analysis, product/portfolio strategy, licensing/IP, industry partnerships,
and revenue/business modeling.
- Experience working with academic institutions on commercialization pathways and mentoring faculty
in bringing technologies to market.
- Demonstrate success in launching and scaling biotechnology products, services, and companies,
including startup and Fortune 500 contexts.
- Familiarity with OSU’s GCE4All technology, NSF/NobleReach commercialization work, and the Impact
Studio process.
- Ability to contribute to BTI objectives across governance, operations, workforce development,
branding/marketing, industry engagement, and space planning.
Angie Christoffersen, through BioToBiz LLC, uniquely meets these requirements. She has decades of proven results in strategic business development, commercialization, licensing, and corporate leadership in life sciences and biopharma. Angie has hands-on knowledge of OSU’s specific technologies, ecosystem, and commercialization challenges that allows her to immediately contribute without a learning curve, critical given the 12-month timeline for the Incubation Phase. If a new consultant were brought in, the onboarding and “train-up” time would cause timeline slippage, jeopardizing OSU’s ability to meet or beat milestones required to advance into the Pilot Phase.
An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010. Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website. Appeals must be submitted to Procurement, Contracts and Materials Management at procurement@oregonstate.edu by 09/16/2025 at 10:00 am PST. For additional information please contact Cassandra Hurd by email at cassandra.hurd@oregonstate.edu or by telephone at (541) 737-3059.
