Question No. 2 - On Sht C3, please clarify where to find the LTFR notes.
Answer: Please see TCESD Fire Protection Criteria Manual on LTFR Permits website:
LTFRpermits.com
Question No. 3 - Please clarify how traffic is to be handled at all 5 locations when
pavement is removed as there appears to be no viable, safe detour routes available.
Answer: Please see answers to pre-bid questions 2 and 3 on the City of Lakeway
purchasing website.
Question No. 4 - On Sht C4.1 and subsequent sheets with Note 3, how will areas be
determined that are or were not damaged by construction operations as there are
areas of existing failing pavement within or immediately adjacent to limits of proposed
construction?
Answer: Per the contract, contractor is to assess and document existing conditions. With
this documentation, it can be determined if damage at the site was caused due to
construction activities and be acted upon accordingly.
Question No. 5 - On C6 sheets, the removed pavement and median sidewalk is shown
to be replaced by the Traffic Logix system. Is this correct?
Answer: The intent of the plans was to convey the opportunity to manufacture a table top
sidewalk for these median areas. If this is not preferred, an asphaltic table top sidewalk
can be used.

Question No. 6 - On Sht C7.0, please clarify location of 6" PVC pipe noted in Note 4.
Answer: This note does not apply to this project, please disregard.
Question No. 7 - On Sht C10, where will pot hole repair be needed and if not due to
Contractor operations, how is this work to be paid?
Answer: This detail is supplemental information and may not be applicable to the project
depending on contractor operations.
Question No. 8 - On Sht C11:
o Please clarify pavement subgrade discrepancy requirements between
Detail 2 and Detail 3:
Answer: Please see the note on Detail 3, the contractor is to use the 8” HMAC
detail is full-depth repair is required.
o Please provide details of existing pavement section to help clarify the
following:
o It seems that pavement work will never to extend to a depth that will
require the subgrade work shown in Detail 2 and Detail 3
Answer: The demolition sheets call for a full-depth sawcut, the information
for the subbase is supplemental and may not be needed.
o Portions of Detail 2 pavement section areas will likely not extend through
existing HMAC that would allow required flexible base work.
Answer: This information is supplemental in the event it is needed due to
contractor operations.
Question No. 9 - A On Sht C12, please provide more clarity on the shape of the Traffic
Logix cross section as it does not appear to match that of the HMAC section on Sht
C11; Sht C11 shows a 10' wide cross walk area with 10' maximum length ramping up to
the raised cross walk, but Sht C12 seems to show a 3.5'(42") wide cross walk area with
42" ramps.
Answer: The Traffic Logix system is provided as an example detail of an acceptable system
to be used for the table top sidewalks. However, if this option is used, the procured
manufactured sidewalk must match the dimensions shown on the plans.

Question No. 10 - On Sht C14:
o The concrete flume detail notes appears to require 6" depth of clear
drainage way through the flume and which matches the existing gutter/top
of curb depth; please note that the grate series type will note provide this
clearance as the grate utilizes approximate 2" vertical vanes that will
extend into this 6"clearance; please clarify that this is acceptable.
Answer: The drainage calculations are assuming a 6” depth of clear through the
flume, please maintain the 6” of clearance for conveyance.
o Please provide additional details to aid in layout of the concrete flume
locations; the different plan detail sheets indicate the flume is to be
placed parallel and on top of the existing gutter to allow continued and
flow through of runoff along the gutter; however, the flume plan detail on
this sheet seems to indicate the flume is to be set back from the existing
gutter which then creates potential blockage of gutter flow.
Answer: New curb and gutter and concrete flume are located within the areas
identified to be removed on the demolition plan. They are to replace the existing
curb and gutter.
Question No. 11 - What class of concrete should be used for the concrete flume? P
Answer: TxDOT specifications used for these improvements, Class C concrete is to be
used.
Question No. 12 - Will a precast concrete flume be allowed?
Answer: Concrete flume is to be cast in place, please see the rebar schedule provided in
the detail.
Question No. 13 - How will the concrete flume be paid?
Answer: Please use the line item for curb and gutter for the concrete flume cost.
