OverviewPost InformationPosted At:Tue, Oct 29, 2024 10:50 AMSealed Bid Process:NoPrivate Bid:NoSummaryThe Central Library of the James Madison Regional Library system is located at 201 East Market Street in Charlottesville Virginia. This building was opened in 1921 and serves the downtown area.
The fire pump at Central Library is over 44 years old, and although it has passed mandatory annual testing, it is no longer safe to rely on for fire protection.
The existing Fire Pump at James Madison Regional Library requires replacement, due to age and structural wear. The Contractor shall be responsible for all materials and labor to remove the existing fire pump and install the replacement. The new fire pump will be UL Enterprise-listed (UL) and Fire Marshall approved and sized equal to existing fire pump capacity. All equipment shall be installed in accordance with the applicable standards of the National Fire Protection Association and the manufacturer’s specifications.

This project will require a contractor that is flexible and adaptive to the Central Library business hours and has the ability to complete this project in a manner that will minimize disruption to the Central Library's operations.
