Invitation to Bid
Knik Corners Boiler Room Renovation
Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) will be accepting sealed bids from responsible and responsive contractors for the Knik Corners Boiler Room Renovation, located at 8800 Centennial Circle, Anchorage, Alaska.
The scope of work for this project includes the removal and replacement of the boiler system, water heater system, and all associated pumps and piping systems. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for completing any necessary electrical work related to the project.
Throughout the construction period, the contactor must ensure the continuous supply of domestic hot and cold water and heat to the building. The contractor has the flexibility to determine the most efficient and cost-effective method for maintaining these utilities, which must be outlined in the Contractor's Approach Narrative to be submitted with the bid. It is permissible to reuse the existing equipment for temporary services, and the heating capacity can be reduced in outdoor conditions allow. For instance, one of the existing boilers may suffice to provide temporary heat during the summer months.
Interruptions to the water and heating systems will be required at certain points. The Owner anticipates two disconnections per system - one to connect a temporary system and another to connect the newly remodeled system. The Owner prefers that the water system disconnections occur during nighttime hours, which the heat system disconnections take place during daytime hours. The contractor is expected to provide a detailed plan with durations for these interruptions and disconnections in the Contractor's Approach Narrative.
