The City of Phenix City is seeking bids for BID # Demolition of Structures 2026-2

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked: BID # Demolition of Structures 2026-2

Bids must be submitted no later than Thursday, June 30, 2026 at 9:30 a.m., Eastern Time at:

Bids will be opened in the City Council Chambers located at 1111 Broad Street, Phenix City, Alabama.

The City reserves the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the best and most responsible bidder.

A 5% bid bond or cashier’s check must be submitted with all bids. Failure to furnish cashier’s check or bid bond will cause bid to be rejected.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF BIDDING - READ CAREFULLY

1. Quote on alternates if unable to furnish items listed. State on face of bid exactly what you are furnishing. (Brand or Manufacturer’s Name).

2. Any catalog, or manufacturer’s reference in this proposal is descriptive, but not restrictive, and is used only to indicate type and grade.

3. Furnish specifications on all items bid.

4. The City of Phenix City is exempt from all Federal Excise Taxes. DO NOT include tax in your bid price or invoice.

5. PRICE MUST BE ITEMIZED. The City of Phenix City reserves the right to award item or total bid.

6. ALL bids must be quoted f.o.b. Phenix City.

7. In case of a discrepancy between the unit price and the extension, the unit price will be taken.

8. Due to legal requirements of the City for processing payments, cash discounts should be quoted ten days after end of month, when possible.

9. In the event no bid is to be submitted note same on invitation and return with the general provisions included herein. Also advise whether future

invitations for type of supplies or services covered by the inquiry are desired.

10. The successful bidder will be required to have all applicable state and city business licenses.

11. This original request for proposal, along with any attachments, MUST BE SUBMITTED IN DUPLICATE.

12. A 5% bid bond or cashier’s check must be submitted with all bids.

DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES 2026-2

The City of Phenix City, Alabama will accept individual bids (include dumping fees) by licensed Phenix City

contractors to demolish the THIRTEEN (13) structures located as follows:

2410 17th Avenue, Phenix City, AL

518 11th Avenue South, Phenix City, AL

1707 12th Avenue, Phenix City, AL

1507 12th Street, Phenix City, AL

604 Dillingham Street, Phenix City, AL

801 4th Place South, Phenix City, AL

1019 4th Street, Phenix City, AL

1420 10th Avenue, Phenix City, AL

823 ½ 13th Court, Phenix City, AL

1108 20th Avenue South, Phenix City, AL

709 12th Avenue, Phenix City, AL

400 11th Avenue, Phenix City, AL

218 11th Avenue, Phenix City, AL

If your bid is greater than $10,000.00 a 5%, bond or cashier’s check must accompany your bid. Any bid

exceeding $10,000.00, which does not have either a cashier’s check or bond at bid opening, shall not be

considered. Each property shall be bid individually. If unsure about structure/lot location, contact the Phenix

City Building Department for verification.

All sewer lines must be capped before being covered. All utility connections must be disconnected and secured.

All debris and accumulation of materials resulting from demolition or any building shall be removed from the

premises and disposed of properly. Grade lot to prevent standing of water.

Permanent Grassing Specifications:

A Spreader is required to distribute seed/fertilizer.

March 1 to August 31 – Common Bermuda grass (Hulled) 10 lbs/acre

September 1 to March 1 – Common Bermuda grass (Unhulled) 10 lbs/acre and Annual Ryegrass 10 lbs/acre

Fertilizer Rate:

Nitrogen

5% - 10%

60 – 90 lbs/acre

Phosphorous 10% - 15% 120 – 180 lbs/acre

Potassium

10% - 15% 120 – 180 lbs/acre

Mulch

1000 lbs/acre

500 lbs/acre

All work shall be completed within sixty (60) days of the bid being let.

Payment, in full, shall be awarded after the completion of a final inspection. There will be no partial payments.

All work shall be performed in compliance with Federal, State, and the International Building Code, 2021

Edition, Section 3303.

The right is reserved to accept or reject all or any parts of your offer and to accept the offer the City Council

considers the most advantageous to the City.

The City of Phenix City is exempt from all federal excise taxes. Do not include tax in your bid price.

Closed bids with cashier’s check or bid bond if bid exceeds $10,000.00 should be submitted to the Purchasing

Agent in the Finance Department located at 601 12th Street, Phenix City, AL. Bids would be accepted in the

Finance Department until 9:30 A.M. EST on June 30, 2026. Please write on sealed envelope: Demolition of

Structures 2026-2.

Bid Opening will be 10:00 A.M. EST on June 30, 2026 in the Council Chambers of the Public Safety

Building located at 1111 Broad Street, Phenix City, Alabama.
