The Board of Commissioners of Hancock County will receive bids for a new Dump Truck at their office in the Hancock County Courthouse Annex, 111 American Legion Place, Suite 101, Greenfield, IN 46140, until 8:00 A.M. on the 7th day of APR, 2026.
Bids will be evaluated based upon inspection, testing, quality, workmanship, delivery, and suitability for a particular purpose. The bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, except that Hancock County retains the right to reject all bids when it is in the best interest of the county.
Bid documents are available in the Hancock County Auditor’s office, 111 American Legion Place, Greenfield, IN, beginning 1 MAR, 2026.

SPECIFICATIONSforNew Dump TrucksGENERALIt is the intent of these specifications to describe one bid: nine new dump trucks in sufficient detail to secure bidson comparable equipment. Nine dump trucks are to be traded in. All parts not specifically mentioned, which arenecessary to provide a complete unit(s), shall be included in the bid and shall conform in strength and quality ofmaterial and workmanship to what is usually provided to the trade in general. The trucks shall be new. The trucksare to be delivered to the body vendor and to the Hancock County Highway, 921 W. Osage St., Greenfield, uponcompletion.Hancock County may accept a bid or none if they so desire.The bids are due 7APR, 2026 at 8:00 am as stated in the Notice of Bids. The bids shall include bid form 95,which shall include the non-collusion affidavit. The bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope with the words“Dump Truck Bid” marked on it.Units shall be manufactured and assembled with conformance to the best known Engineering Standards of thetrade, relative to design, strength, quality, durability and workmanship. Every item assembled upon this unit mustmeet the latest Federal Safety Standards.Any units not in substantial compliance with these specifications will be rejected. Hancock County shall be thesole judge in determining if the units are in substantial compliance.Bidders shall also attach literature or brochure of the model(s) being offered with the bid.The successful Bidder shall indemnify and save harmless the local agency from any and all suits, costs andpenalties or claims for infringements by reason of any patented designs, devices, or materials or any trademark orcopyright in connection with the specific units furnished under this proposal at anytime during manufacture andafter purchase of the specified units.Where the term or equal is used in these specifications and Bidder deviates from the specified item, he shall file(with his bid) a letter fully explaining and justifying his proposed article or equal.The Bidder shall at the time of this proposal have some adequate parts station in the State of Indiana wherebyparts shall be available in 48 hours when so ordered by Hancock County. Bidder shall denote by separate insert inhis/her bid where this service is available. Such parts arrangement will be given consideration in the award.The bid shall include the cost for and delivery of a Parts Book/CD and a Service Manual/CD for the model beingbid.Bids shall remain in effect for 15 calendar days.The bid shall be awarded to the best bid.Number of complete units are as follows:1 Single Axle Dump TrucksPaymentPayment shall be made upon delivery.
