Lafayette StreetGreenville, MI 48838All responses must be clearly labeled “City of Greenville ADA Door Project.”Emailed responses will not be accepted.Evaluation of BidsThe City will review all submitted bids and other relevant information (cost, best value forthe municipality, subjective considerations) regarding the products which the City wishesto purchase. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any response for any or noreason and to waive any minor irregularity if determined to be in the best interest of theCity of Greenville. Individuals or companies submitting paperwork as part of the bidselection process understand, by their submission, the above evaluation process.Furthermore, the City reserves the right to reduce the number of purchasable items onthe bid specification list after the bid opening, in order to decrease the final cost if neededto meet specific financial needs for the project.Selection of BidsOnce the appropriate bid is selected, it will be presented to the City Council for approval.Upon vendor and bid approval, the selected vendor will receive a “Notice of Award” andthe opportunity to review the plan of execution for the project with City officials.The “Total Amount Proposed” cost will be valid for a minimum of 60 days after the bidopening date and prospective vendors will be held to the price presented.Scope of WorkThe City of Greenville will accept bids for the purchase and installation of two ADA-compliant door opening devices for two restroom doors located in the Public SafetyBuilding, according to the specifications outlined in this document. This installationincludes mounting of devices, switches, and all equipment to ensure the doors open andclose properly, allowing access to restroom facilities for all individuals. Additionally, thescope of work also includes the installation or connection of any electrical wiring ormechanical components to guarantee the successful operations of all necessaryequipment.Based on the age, size, and weight of the current restroom doors, the contractor has theoption to also bid new doors, framing, and the installation work to change out the entry toRequest For Bidsthe restroom area in order to ensure the hardware for the door opening system worksproperly.No sales tax may be added to the bid price, as the City of Greenville is sales tax exempt.Any bid submitted outside of the requested specifications the reason for the deviationfrom the requested specification of the City of Greenville.Companies are encouraged to meet with the contact person and view both the windowand door installation areas to obtain specific measurements and information prior tosubmitting a bid, if so desired.Companies proposing equipment outside of the proposal specifications or a designoutside of the example pictures need to also provide justification as to why the listedspecifications could not be met and how the equipment proposed meets or exceeds therequested merchandise listed.Area of Work / Examples of Current ADA EquipmentDoors and area of installation for the equipment leading to the Men’s Restroom andWomen’s Restroom in City Hall.Request For BidsClose up of each door – there is an inset gap for each door, so the doors are not flushwith the brick exterior.Examples of current mechanisms in place for ourentry doors to the Public Safety Building.
