Sealed proposals will be received by County of Wake in the Procurement Services, in Suite 2900, Wake
County Justice Center, 301 S. McDowell Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 for providing labor, material and
equipment entering into Single Prime Mechanical Prime Contract for the South Wilmington Street Center
Hot Water System Renovation (RFB #26-039).
Sealed Single Prime bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on April 21, 2026, and publicly opened and
read starting at 2:00 p.m.
The general scope is as follows:
Replace existing boiler with two (2) new high-efficiency natural gas condensing boilers.
Sequence the project to keep the hot water heating system operational through the project.
Create a primary/secondary HW loop system.
Provide two (2) new Boiler Pumps and replace the two (2) secondary existing pumps. All pumps
shall be provided with Variable Frequency Drives.
Rework the boiler flue venting.
Connect the new hot water system to the existing Schneider Electric EcoStruxure BAS system.
Rework electrical power for new mechanical systems.
Convert existing 3-way valves on VAV boxes to 2-way by closing the bypass valve.
A Mandatory Pre-bid Conference will be held at 1:30 p.m. local prevailing time on April 7, 2026.
Contractors are to meet at the entrance of the South Wilmington Street Center, located at 1420 S.
Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27601. All Contractors are to be present.
Complete plans and specifications can be obtained by requesting a PDF electronic set to
hdma@mindspring.com.
