Description: PUBLIC NOTICE MILLBURN TOWNSHIP MILLBURN TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE ORDINANCE 2739-26 PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the following Ordinance was submitted in writing, introduced, read by title and passed on first reading at a meeting of the Township Committee of the Township of Millburn, in the County of Essex on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The ordinance will be considered for final passage and adoption at the public hearing held at a special meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the Millburn Education Center, 434 Millburn Avenue, Millburn, New Jersey when and where or at such time and place to which said meeting may be adjourned, all persons interested will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning said ordinance. Gatti, RMC, Township Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 2739-26 ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER VII “TRAFFIC”, SECTION 7-11.1 “TIME LIMIT PARKING” OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MILLBURN STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The proposed amendment to the Traffic Ordinance is to authorize the installation of 2 additional 15-minute parking spaces on Chatham Road to facilitate parking turnover for businesses located in this area. WHEREAS, the Township has identified two spaces that can be utilized as 15-minute only parking spaces in front of businesses that desire parking space turnover and have the types of businesses that predominantly have a take-out or pickup business model; and WHEREAS, this recommendation comes from discussions from relevant businesses on Chatham Road and in consultation with the Millburn Traffic Bureau; and BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MILLBURN, IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX AND THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, as follows: Section 1. Article VII entitled “Traffic” of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of Millburn is hereby amended as follows: Section 7-11.1 – “Time Limit Parking” is amended and supplemented to include the following changes indicate by an strikethrough for deletions and an underline for additions to this section. Street Side Time Limit Hours Location Chatham Road North 12 hours 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. From a point 25 feet west of the westerly side line of Woodland Road extended to the north side of Chatham Road running westerly 210 feet; and from a point 505 feet west of the westerly side line of Woodland Road extended to the north side of Chatham Road running westerly 210 feet Chatham Road North 2 hours 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. From a point 235 feet west of the westerly side line of Woodland Road running westerly 105 feet Chatham Road North 2 hours 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. From the easterly projected line of Woodland Road easterly for a distance of 434 feet Chatham Road South 2 hours 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. From the southeasterly corner of Woodland Road easterly for a distance of 387 feet a distance of 157 feet east of the southeasterly corner of Woodland Road for a distance of 130 feet. Chatham Road South 15 mins. 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Saturday From the property line of the U.S. Post Office (Short Hills) easterly to the driveway of the U.S. Post Office (Short Hills) Chatham Road South 15 Minutes 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Beginning 115 feet from the southeasterly corner of Woodland Road, easterly for a distance of 42 feet. Section 2.            The provisions of this Ordinance are severable and the invalidity of any phrase, clause or part of this Ordinance shall not affect the validity or effectiveness of the remainder of the Ordinance. Section 3.            This Ordinance shall take effect after final passage and publication as provided by law.
