SummaryThe City of Granbury, Texas is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified and experienced contractors for construction improvements at Lambert Branch Park, located at 304 E. Rucker Street, Granbury, TX 76048. All work must be completed in accordance with the Final Construction Plans dated December 2025, prepared by Kimley‑Horn and Associates, Inc.
The project scope includes site demolition, tree protection fencing, erosion control measures, earthwork, concrete improvements, accessible routes, parking improvements including thermoplastic striping, picnic pads, shoreline access enhancements, signage, irrigation sleeves only, topsoil preparation for seed areas, and all associated appurtenances per the plans and details.
BackgroundThe City of Granbury is undertaking improvements to Lambert Branch Park, located at 304 E. Rucker Street in Granbury, Hood County, Texas, adjacent to Lake Granbury. The park is a highly used community amenity featuring waterfront access, picnic areas, and the historic A.M. Neely House located on‑site. The project area contains existing sidewalks, playground equipment, benches, concrete retaining walls, a fishing pier, and public access points that are to be protected throughout construction (per construction plan notes).
To support community use, accessibility, and general site safety, the City has completed a full set of Final Construction Plans (December 2025) for comprehensive park renovations. These plans were prepared by Kimley‑Horn and Associates, Inc., including civil, landscape, irrigation, and grading components. The improvements will enhance accessibility, pedestrian circulation, site furnishings, and the user experience while ensuring long‑term sustainability through upgraded erosion control, grading, and planting requirements.
The total project area anticipates approximately 0.76 acres of ground disturbance, which falls below the threshold requiring TCEQ Construction General Permit coverage, though all erosion control best management practices shown in the plans must be followed. All existing conditions, including the presence of overhead and underground utilities, protected trees, and sensitive shoreline elements, must be maintained or protected according to the plans.
Planned improvements include ADA‑compliant walkways and parking, new concrete picnic pads, upgraded signage, irrigation improvements, and coordination for ADA‑compliant access to the existing fishing pier and boat dock. The project incorporates Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) compliance and references TDLR Project Number TABS2026000890, included in the plans for accessibility review.
Additionally, the project includes installation of new park signage, including “Welcome to Lambert Branch Park” and grant‑related signage recognizing project funding sources. Several site amenities such as picnic tables, benches, swing benches, trash receptacles, will be provided and installed by the city.
Construction activities must be staged and sequenced to protect public assets, maintain safe work zones, comply with City standards, and avoid disruption to adjacent recreational and waterfront areas.
