Project Description: The project generally consists of the removal of existing 24 inch gate valve; installation of new 24 inch gate valve including fittings, piping, and welding; removal and replacement of 27 square yards of 8” concrete pavement; trenching and trench safety; and traffic control. Existing pipe is reinforced concrete cylinder pipe (RCCP). The existing valve is in poor condition and needs replacement to provide water supply for surrounding neighborhoods, schools, and businesses.
Temporary shutoff valves and bypass piping will be used to isolate the section of the system to ensure that water service is maintained to customers while the work is being done. For bidding purposes, it is estimated that the city will spend approximately $293,400.00 for this project.
