To Whom It May Concern:

This Addendum is issued to modify or clarify the bid documents previously furnished for the

above-referenced project. The following items shall be incorporated into the contract documents:

RESPONSES TO BIDDER INQUIRIES

1) Inquiry: Material Transfer Vehicle (MTV) Requirements

Response: A material transfer vehicle (MTV) shall be used in accordance with Section 610-

8 of the 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, which states: “Use a MTV

for all surface mix regardless of binder grade on Interstates, US Routes, NC Routes

(primary routes) that have 4 or more lanes and are median divided. Where required above,

use the MTV when placing all full width travel lanes and collector lanes.”

It is acknowledged that past Division One resurfacing plan SOQ sheets have included a

column indicating whether an MTV was required for each map, and that this column is not

present in the SOQ for DA00664. All parties are hereby notified of this clarification and the

requirement to comply with Section 610-8 of the 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads

and Structures.

2) Inquiry: Incidental Milling Locations (Maps 1 and 3)

Response: All incidental milling located within the median between Maps 1 and 3,

including left-turn lanes, is included in the quantity shown for Map 1. Consolidating the

entire median milling under a single map allows for continuous and accurate measurement

of the limits without the risk of overlapping or splitting quantities at an arbitrary map

boundary.

The incidental milling quantity shown for Map 3 includes only the milling located to the

right (south) of the centerline. The total incidental milling quantity for Maps 1 and 3 is

correct and ensures no overlap within the median area accounted for under Map 1.
