The consultant shall be expected to complete a review of the structure and produce a design of a fire alarm system that matches the new fire alarm systems being installed (Attachments A & B), as well as a fire suppression system and combustion protection system. The consultant will be required to work cooperatively with the City's Building and Safety Division for plan review. The proposal shall include the costs for design/construction documents, permit package, and construction administration (further details in the scope of work).
BackgroundThe City of Thousand Oaks is located in eastern Ventura County and consists of 56 square miles. The City population is approximately 127,000. The City is a general law city operating under the Council/Manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of five elected members, with one member serving as Mayor on an annual basis. On July 18, 2023, the City Council adopted an ordinance which will move the City to district-based elections starting in November 2024.
