Bid Title:	Widening of Interstate Drive

Description: Sealed bids will be received by the City of Cookeville Public Works Department at 1115 East Spring Street, Cookeville, TN, until _2 pm___ (local time),_May 5th___, 2026, for the Widening of Interstate Drive at the intersection with Jefferson Ave (SR 136), approximately 0.07 miles.  The work consists of, but not limited to; storm sewer installation, grading, base and paving, topsoiling, seeding and sidewalk construction. Contract documents, including Instructions for Bidders, are available in the office of City of Cookeville Public Works Department at 1115 East Spring Street, Cookeville, TN. A mandatory on-site pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 28th at 2:00 PM (local time) at 1115 East Spring Street, Cookeville, TN. All bidders shall be required to pay a $150.00 non-refundable charge for a set of contract documents made payable to Clinton Engineering & Surveying, LLC.  No bids will be received or accepted after the above-specified time for the opening of bids. The Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: City of Cookeville Public Works 1115 East Spring St. Cookeville, TN  38501 Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or bank check or Bid Guarantee Bond in the amount not less than Five Percent (5%) of the bid and subject to the conditions provided in the INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDDERS. The successful bidder will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, each Bond.  The term, “Successful Bidder”, means the lowest, qualified, responsible Bidder to whom Owner (on the basis of Owner’s evaluation as hereinafter provided) makes an award. All bidders must be licensed contractors to perform the type construction herein described as required by Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 6, Amended by Chapter 406 of the Public Works Acts of 1977. No bid will be opened unless the sealed envelope containing the bid provides the following information: the Contractor’s license number, the date of the license’s expiration, and that part of his classification applying to the bid. In the case of joint ventures, this information must be provided by all parties submitting the bid. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or reject any or all bids as deemed in the best interest of the City, and in the event all bids are rejected, the project may be re-advertised.
