Summary

Escambia County is seeking highly skilled, independent heavy equipment technician(s) to deliver ongoing, as needed maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and fabrications services for its heavy equipment fleet at the Perdido Landfill (Cantonment, FL) and Palafox Transfer Station (Pensacola, FL). The fleet primarily consists of Caterpillar machinery, including dozers, compactors, loaders, articulated dump trucks, and excavators. In addition to, the county maintains Western Star and International trucks, MAC walking floor trailers, and a small fleet of passenger vehicles.

The selected contractor(s) must provide their own service truck, comprehensive tools, mobile fabrication capabilities, and proven expertise in CAT ET and SIS.

Background

The Perdido Landfill and Palafox Transfer Station are essential to Escambia County's solid waste management, processing large volumes of waste daily with a heavy equipment fleet critical for compaction, handling, and site operations. Downtime from repairs can disrupt efficiency, increase costs, and risk compliance issues, so this hourly-rate technician contract ensures rapid, expert on site service to maximize uptime and support reliable operations.
