Description: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS City of Hartselle 611 Chestnut Street Hartselle, Alabama 35640 (Owner) Sealed BIDS for the WILLIAM BRADFORD HUIE PUBLIC LIBRARY & EVENT VENUE SITE, HARTSELLE, ALABAMA, FOR MASS EXCAVATION FOR SITE DEVELOPMENT, will be received until 2:00 P.M. CST, Thursday, June 18 th , 2026 at the City of Hartselle Municipal Building, 611 Chestnut Street NW, Hartselle, Alabama 35640, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.  No bids will be accepted or opened after the deadline. Bids shall be for the following: mass excavation, preparing approximately 2.6 acres for site development. Work will include installation of erosion and sediment control measures, clearing and grubbing of the existing site, stripping and stockpiling of topsoil for later use, mass grading and earthwork to proposed contours, undercutting and off-site disposal of unsuitable soils, and importing and placing suitable material as engineered structural fill in accordance with the project geotechnical report. The contractor will be responsible for establishing finished subgrade elevations, achieving specified compaction requirements, and delivering a stabilized, pad-ready and site-ready parcel for vertical construction by others. Duration of contract time is anticipated to be 63 calendar days. Envelopes containing bids must be addressed as follows, and delivered to City of Hartselle, ATTN: Rita S. Lee, City Clerk- Controller, 611 Chestnut Street NW, Hartselle, Alabama 35640. All bids, including courier envelopes inside and outside, should be clearly marked as containing “SEALED BID FOR WILLIAM BRADFORD HUIE PUBLIC LIBRARY & EVENT CENTER SITE FOR MASS EXCAVATION. The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and Form of   Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bond, and other contract documents may be examined at the following locations: Hartselle Municipal Building, Engineering Department, 611 Chestnut Street. NW, Hartselle, Alabama  and   Pugh Wright McAnally, Inc., 310 8 th Avenue, NE, Decatur, Alabama. A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 2:00 P.M., CST, on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at the office of Pugh Wright McAnally, Inc., 310 8 th Avenue NE, Decatur, Alabama 35601 . Hard copies may be obtained at the office of Pugh Wright McAnally, Inc., 310 8 th Avenue, N.E., Decatur, Alabama 35601, upon a non-refundable payment of $250.00 for each set.  Persons or firms desiring CONTRACT DOCUMENTS to be mailed to them shall deposit fifteen ($15) dollars in addition to the deposit sum noted, nonrefundable, to cover services of handling and mailing. BID Bond or a certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the price bid, payable to the OWNER, must accompany each bid.   Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount, will be required of the successful Bidder.  No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City of Hartselle reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in bidding, and to award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Attention is called to the CONTRACTOR’S ALABAMA LICENSE LAW, Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama (1975) as amended.  CONTRACTOR must be licensed under specialty classification Municipal and Utility.
