NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT CONSTRUCTION BIDSBLUE LINE LAKE ST/MIDTOWN STATION RENOVATIONThe Metropolitan Council intends to solicit sealed bids for the construction of the Metro TransitBlue Line Lake Street/Midtown Station renovation project located at 2310 East Lake Street inMinneapolis, Minnesota. The station serves METRO Blue Line Light Rail Transit on an aerialplatform.The Invitation for Bids is anticipated to be issued in April 2026 for a Spring 2027 constructionstart. Please check the Council’s Contracting Opportunities Page at metrocouncil.org/About-Us/What-We-Do/DoingBusiness/Contracting-Opportunities.aspx for updated information andto sign up for email alerts.This federally funded project is a major renovation of the Blue Line aerial station, and thescope includes:- Removing the existing partial canopy and attached overhead catenary system, platformshelters, elevators, escalators, and stair enclosures;- Reconstructing a new canopy, reinstalling the overhead catenary system, platformamenities, new elevators, and new, widened outdoor staircases; and- Construction of a new exterior pedestrian ramp and interior operational facility; and- All associated civil, landscape, structural, mechanical, electrical, systems, temporarytraffic work, associated testing, and certification to support the project.Questions may be directed to:Kim Ruedy, IFB Administratorkimberley.ruedy@metc.state.mn.us
