North Palos School District 117 Specifications

for the purchase of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel

Effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027

1.​ Fuel will be ordered on an “as needed basis”.

​2.​ Contractor must provide the district with a wireless fuel monitoring system.

3.​ District tank has a capacity of 8,000 gallons and is located above ground.

4.​ Estimated fuel to be ordered is 40,000 gallons. The estimate per order is 4,000 – 5,000 gallons.

5.​ Fuel deliveries shall be transport deliveries between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. All fuel will be

delivered to:

5.​ Fuel order will be placed via email with the delivery of the order within 24 hours from the time of order.

6.​ Bids should not include any taxes; invoice to include Cook County and other applicable taxes.

7.​ North Palos School District 117 does not pay state or federal sales tax on any fuel or delivery service.

8​ Invoices received before the first Tuesday of the month will be processed for approval for payment on the

third Tuesday of the month. Invoices received after the first Tuesday of the month will be processed for

payment on the third Tuesday of the following month.

9.​ Note any special delivery requirements which go beyond stated requirements when submitting your bid.

10.​ A copy of the “OPIS” price published for Chicago, Illinois on the requested delivery date is required to

be submitted with all fuel invoices.

11.​ Bids are due on or before 3:00 p.m. on April 6, 2026.

12.​ North Palos School District 117 reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.

13.​ All quality control will be under the jurisdiction of the purchasing agent. North Palos School District 117

reserves the right to sample deliveries in any manner which will produce samples for testing purposes

fully representing the diesel fuel delivered.

​

Ultra low sulfur diesel fuel that does not meet the specification requirements will be rejected and the

contractor shall, at his expense, replace all inferior fuel delivered with fuel meeting specification

requirements. The contractor may have a representative present at the time measurements are made and

also when tests are run on samples.

14.​ Any damage to North Palos School District 117’s property done during delivery and filling by the

contractor shall be immediately corrected at the contractor’s expense.

15.​ If needed from November 1st through April 1st, buses may require a blend of diesel fuel. The district’s

Director of Transportation and the bidder’s fuel expert will determine the blend prior to delivery.

16.​ All bids must be sealed and either mailed or delivered to:

Diesel Fuel Bid Proposal

Ultra Low Sulfur 15 PPM with Lubricity

This bid is subject to market increases or decreases and will be allowed to fluctuate from the “OPIS” average

price on the requested delivery date only by the amount indicated on Line #3.

Your price should reflect the total cost of product delivered to the transportation facility.

Ultra low diesel fuel is to be supplied from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
