Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County930 17th Avenue Santa Cruz, CA 95062 (831) 479-6842 centralfiresc.orgNOTICE INVITING INFORMAL BIDSInstallation and Electrical Upgrades for Emergency Generators – Fire Stations 1 & 2Notice is hereby given that the Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County (“District”) isrequesting informal bids from qualified and licensed contractors, in accordance with theCalifornia Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA) and Public ContractCode §22032(b), for the following public works project:Project TitleInstallation and Electrical Upgrades for Emergency Generators – Fire Stations 1 & 2Project DescriptionThe project includes installing and upgrading emergency standby diesel-fueled generators andrelated electrical infrastructure at two District fire stations. The work includes removal ofexisting equipment, installation of two (2) new Cummins 60-80 KW, 120/240 single and 3-phasecapable that is rated to deliver 58-63 Hz clean power for sensitive electronics. Generators shallbe diesel-fueled and include a minimum of a 100-gallon day storage tank. They must meet SantaCruz County and Monterey Bay Air Quality Resources District emission and noise levelrequirements applicable to the installation locations. Electrical upgrades to provide three-phasepower, and integration to ensure reliable operation of all facility systems, including bay doorsand critical load circuits. The generator systems will be automatic during any power outage, shallperform automatic cycling, and meet all current code and applicable standards.This is a single combined bid for both locations:• Fire Station 1: 930 17th Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95062• Fire Station 2: 3445 Thurber Lane, Santa Cruz, CA 95065Estimated Cost RangeThe project is anticipated to be greater than $75,000 and less than $220,000, and will thereforebe awarded under CUPCCAA informal bidding procedures.Contractor EligibilityTo be considered for award, contractors must:1. Be listed on the District’s 2025–2026 CUPCCAA Registered Contractor List; or2.
