Big Darby Creek Biodiversity and Conservation Action PlanBackground Information:
The ODNR Scenic Rivers Program within the Division of Natural Areas and Preserves seeks professional services to assist in the development of a Big Darby Biodiversity and Conservation Action Plan (Plan).
This exceptionally high-quality river is located near the rapidly growing Columbus metropolitan area, which has the potential to degrade water quality, stream stability, and populations of rare and endangered species. The Scenic Rivers Program has been awarded a three-year National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant to collaborate with watershed communities to develop the Plan to prevent this degradation.
Project Objective:
ODNR staff will lead development of the plan framework and content, integration of data from the Central Ohio Integrated Prioritization System (IPS) model, and all public outreach and educational initiatives including meeting facilitation, fact sheets, newsletter articles, social media posts, and media interest. The successful firm will assist in these objectives; lead development of technical watershed management tools including model ordinances and storm water management practices using green infrastructure (GI) and develop the final plan document including graphic design and layout. The consultant and ODNR will work together in supporting jurisdictions with implementation of technical watershed management tools.
