TOWN OF WAREHAM

SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS AT ONSET PIER WEST BOULEVARD SIDEWALK

IMPROVEMENTS, AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LILLIAN GREGERMAN

BANDSHELL

The Town of Wareham, the Awarding Authority as represented by the Wareham Town

Administrators Office, invites sealed bids for Sidewalk Improvements at Onset Pier, West

Boulevard Sidewalk Improvements, and Improvements to the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell in

Onset, MA.

1. Sidewalk Improvements at Onset Pier

The scope of improvements for Sidewalk Improvements at Onset Pier includes, but is not limited

to, the following:

▪ New cast-in-place concrete sidewalks.

▪ New crosswalk markings.

▪ Removal of existing asphalt and pavers.

▪ Salvaged bench seating on a new concrete pad.

▪ New drainage infrastructure.

▪ Protection of existing trees to remain.

▪ Landscape restoration, including new plantings as required by the contract drawings.

2. West Boulevard Sidewalk Improvements:

The scope of improvements for West Boulevard Sidewalk Improvements includes, but is not

limited to, the following:

▪ New cast-in-place concrete sidewalks.

▪ New pavement markings.

▪ Removal and reinstallation of pavers.

▪ Granite and concrete curbing.

▪ Protection of existing trees to remain.

▪ Tree removal.

▪ Landscape restoration and other elements and work as required by the contract drawings.

MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, Highway – Sidewalk

and Curbing, for the West Boulevard Sidewalk Improvements project with an estimated

value of $1,716,030 will be required.

3. Improvements to the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell

The scope of improvements for the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell includes, but is not limited to,

the following:

▪ New cast-in-place concrete walkways.

▪ Removal and replacement of bench seating, including accessible seating locations.

▪ New ramp and handrail.

▪ Removal, regrading and reinstallation of unit paver plaza.

▪ New lighting bollards.

▪ Protection of existing trees to remain.

▪ Landscape restoration and other elements and work as required by the contract drawings.

Bid Alternate #1 for Improvements to the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell

The scope of improvements for the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell includes, but is not limited to,

the following:

▪ New cast-in-place concrete walkways.

The Lillian Gregerman Bandshell scope of work must be completed by June 30, 2026.

Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 30, Section

39M (MGL C.30, S.39M) as amended.

Beginning February 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM, complete sets of bidding documents, including bid

forms, may be obtained Town of Wareham’s bid opportunities website at

https://www.wareham.gov/bids.aspx

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held. The conference will be held at 186 Onset

Avenue in Onset on March 3, 2026 at 10:00AM. Contractors are invited to meet the Owner’s

Representative at this conference.

Sealed bids for the contract will be received in the Town Administrators Office, located at 54

Marion Road, Third floor, Memorial Town Hall in Wareham, MA 02571 until March 18, 2026

at 4:00 PM. Proposals must be sealed and clearly marked “Onset Pier and West Blvd Sidewalk

Improvements & Lillian Gregerman Bandshell Improvements” with the proposer’s name. All

bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter at the location set forth in the

previous sentence.

The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, as

determined to be in the best interest of the Town and to waive minor informalities. The Town

Administrator is the Awarding Authority.

No less than the minimum salaries and wages as established by the Massachusetts Department

of Labor and Industries shall be paid to employees on this project, as set forth in the bidding

documents.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The estimated costs for each project are as follows: $217,550 for Sidewalk Improvements at

Onset Pier, $590,000 for Lillian Gregerman Bandshell, and $1,716,030 for West Boulevard

Sidewalk Improvements for a total of $2,523,580.
