Vendor is responsible for ensuring have themost accurate documents; a site visit is required by Owner.II.Execution2.1 Examination of Documents and SiteA.Bidders shall carefully examine the Contract Documents and the construction site toobtain first-hand knowledge of existing conditions and the demolition and constructionrequirements of the documents.B.Successful bidder will be denied any application for extra payments for conditions whichcan be determined by visually examining the site and the Contract Documents.2.2 Pre-bid Meeting / Site VisitA.A site visit is not required and bids will be accepted from bidders who have not inspectedthe site to obtain first-hand knowledge of existing conditions.B.It is recommended each bidder inspect the site and become familiar with existingconditions and limitations of the site, means of access to the site and to work areas,relationship of existing and new work, and other conditions which might affect the properperformance and completion of the work.C.No allowance will be made after bid opening for cost estimation errors attributable to anyfailure to account for existing conditions and/or consider of any and all limitations on or ofthis scope of work.D.Successful bidder will be denied any application for extra payments for conditions whichcan be determined by visually examining the site.E.The Owner is not obligated to offer any other times to conduct site visits.F.Any figured dimensions shown on the Contract Documents are for reference purposesonly. The Contractor is required to verify and confirm all dimension in the field and reportany discrepancies to the Owner’s Representative immediately. Huron River DriveAnn Arbor, MI 48105-4800Phone (734) 677-5231Fax (734) 677-5414C.Contractor shall complete, sign, and submit the Bid Proposal Form and WashtenawCommunity College Contractor Responsibility Form as a condition of Contract award.2.7 Codes, Ordinances, Regulations, Etc.A.All labor and materials shall be furnished and installed in strict accordance with the latestto-bid-date applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations of any and all governing bodiesthat have jurisdiction over this project.B.If the quality of the labor and materials required by the Drawings and Project Manualexceeds the requirements of the applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations, theDrawings and Project Manual shall take precedence.C.If the quality of the labor and materials required by the applicable codes, ordinances, andregulations exceed the requirements of the Drawings and Project Manual, then theapplicable codes, ordinances, regulations, etc. shall take precedence.2.8 Subcontractors and Material SuppliersA.The successful bidder shall submit to the Owner within 24 hours after Notice of Award, acomplete and final list of all sub-contractors, all material suppliers, and allsuperintendents (general construction and principal sub-contractors) he proposes toengage on the work. Subcontracts and material contracts shall not be awarded unlessand until they have been approved by the Owner. Superintendents (primary contractorsand principal sub-contractors) shall not be changed during the construction on this projectwithout the Owner’s prior approval in writing.B.Names of proposed principal sub-contractors must be listed on the Bid Proposal Form.2.9 Award of ContractA.Material proposals to be used for the completion of work, the competency, solvency,reputation, and responsibility of the bidders, start/completion/duration times, and otherissues deemed relevant by the Owner and the Engineer will be considered. Allresponsible bidders will receive due consideration before the awarding of this contract.B.In the reception of proposals for the Work, the Owner incurs no obligation to accept thelowest priced proposal.C.The right to accept or reject any and all bids is reserved by the Owner.D.The Owner reserves the right to require testimony or legal documents pertaining to thequalifications of a Contractor.E.If applicable, the Owner may award to multiple vendors if it is the best interest of theCollege.III. Requirements3.1 Proof of Insurance – Vendor shall refer to Attachment B – General Conditions Article 11:Insurance for requirements.3.2 Contract Terms and Conditions – The awarded vendor will be required to sign a standardcontract for the work to be performed per this bid. This project is scheduled to begin April 29, 2026 with a date of final completionon or before July 30, 2026.4.2 General RequirementsA.The contractor shall provide a schedule/workplan on obtaining the necessary permits,materials, and procurement of long-lead items, to begin work and complete the work asscheduled for review by the Owner.B.Provide barricades, fencing required and signage to maintain required safety regulationsas defined by OSHA.C.Coordinate and adhere to all state and local building codes relative to this contractor'swork. This contractor is to obtain and pay for all special permits associated with the work.D.All identifiable trash or debris is to be cleaned up by the trade contractor who created it ona daily basis.E.This contractor MUST comply with MI-OSHA requirements for this work. This will be closelymonitored.F.Contractor and all its sub-contractors are to observe the College’s no smoking policy.G.Vehicles to be parked in parking lots. Unloading areas for tools and materials will beavailable at the building on a temporary basis.4.2 Scope of WorkThe work of this bid category includes but is not limited to providing all labor, equipment, materials,scaffolding, hoisting and incidentals to complete the tower installation work in accordance with thespecifications, drawings and applicable codes. All work is to be performed as shown on the plansand specified herein.THE SCOPE OF WORK IS TO INCLUDE, but is not limited to, the following items:Occupational Education Building Emergency Tower:A.Provide and install one (1) Talk-A-Phone Emergency Tower with 600 Series VOIP Two-Button Emergency & Information Phone, blue LED light, and pendant adapter for cameramounting.B.Provide and install one (1) Pelco Sarix 360° Fisheye 12MP environmental camera.C.Provide anchor bolts and mounting template. Installation of anchor bolts to be performedunder a separate ContractD.Provide and install a new 120VAC circuit from the Emergency Tower to the panelboardlocated in the Occupational Education Building (OEB).E.Provide and install a new 20A/1P circuit breaker in existing space for the new EmergencyTower power, located in OEB.
