OVERVIEWBurke County, in partnership with Burke County Public Schools, submitted an application for the USDepartment of Justice 2025 COPS Office School Violence Prevention Programs (SVPP). BurkeCounty was selected for funding, and a large portion of the funding is to purchase a portableweapon detection system. This system will be used by Burke County Public Schools to help keepweapons out of schools and provide added security at athletic events.3. INSTRUCTIONS3.1. COMMUNICATIONSAll communications, any modifications, clarifications, amendments, questions, responses orany other matters related to the Request for Proposals (RFP) must be made only through theProcurement Contact noted on the cover of this RFP. A violation of this provision is cause forthe County to reject a Company’s bid. No contact regarding this document with other Countyemployees or Burke County Public School employees is permitted and may be grounds fordisqualification.3.2. BIDDER ACKNOWLEDGEMENTThe Bid will remain subject to acceptance for 90 days after the Bid Opening, or for such longerperiod of time that Bidder may agree to in writing upon request of the County.3.3. DUPLICATE BIDSNo more than one (1) bid from any Bidder will be considered by the County. In the eventmultiple bids are submitted in violation of this provision, the County will have the right todetermine which bid will be considered, or at its sole option, reject all such multiple bids.3.4. BID SIGNATURESAn authorized company official must sign Bids. Each signature represents binding commitmentupon the Bidder to provide the goods and/or services offered to the County if the Bidder isdetermined to be the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder.3.5. BIDDERS RESPONSIBILITIESThe Bidder must be capable, either as a firm or a team, of providing all parts as describedherein. Exclusion of any parts or services for this Bid may serve as cause for rejection.The successful Bidder will be responsible for all work in this solicitation whether they areprovided or performed by the successful Bidder or subbidder(s). Further, the County willconsider the successful Bidder to be the sole point of contact with regard to contractualmatters, including payment of any and all charges resulting from the cost of any contract.
