Project Description

The city of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, is seeking bids for the demolition of a former municipal property located at 200 Potomac Boulevard. All qualified contractors/vendors are invited to submit a sealed bid.

• Include all required forms and documentation. Incomplete submissions may be rejected.

• The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof.
• All contracts for the construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
• The successful bidder shall comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and must be an equal opportunity employer.

REQUEST FOR BIDS DEMOLITION SERVICES

INVITATION TO BIDDERS

Sealed proposals will be received by the City Clerk of Mt. Vernon, 1100 Main Street, Mount

Vernon, Illinois 62864, until 10:00 AM local time on JANUARY 14, 2026 at which time and place

they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work consists of the demolition of one former

Municipal Property. The address of the property is listed below:

200 Potomac Blvd. – Former Mt. Vernon Tourism Building

BUILDING LOCATED IN MOUNT VERNON, ILLINOIS

Specifications may be obtained Brad Ruble, City of Mt. Vernon, Engineering Department, 1100

Main Street, Mt. Vernon, between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The City may reject any or

all bids, or any part of any bid in connection with said project. The successful bidder shall be an

equal opportunity employer. Envelopes containing bids shall be plainly marked on the outside

specifying project addresses and must be delivered to the City of Mt. Vernon, City Clerk’s Office,

1100 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
