The scope includesfurnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to complete theconstruction of a 20'x10' box culvert bridge, including associated site work and erosioncontrol measures.The selected contractor must demonstrate experience in bridge construction, compliancewith CDOT and FHWA standards, and ability to meet project timelines and specifications.The procurement will follow a competitive sealed bid process in accordance withapplicable federal, state, and local regulations.PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND HISTORYThe project aims to mitigate natural hazards by installing a 20'x10' box culvert bridge on CR17 over Corbett Creek. Per CDOT and FHWA guidelines, a structure with a clear span of 20feet or more qualifies as a bridge. The new structure will improve flow capacity, reduceflood risk, and enhance emergency evacuation routes from the City of Ouray when US 550is closed. It will also provide reliable access for residents and the traveling public.The bridge will reduce recurring washouts and lower maintenance costs for the CountyRoad and Bridge Department. Ouray County received a FEMA Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM)Grant in August 2024 to support this project. Upon completion, the County will assumeresponsibility for long-term maintenance. Bids will be accepted electronically through OpenGov.com bidding only.No paper or emailed bids will be accepted. No online bid will be opened, read, orconsidered if it does not fully comply with the instructions to bidders and documentsubmission requirements listed on the OpenGov.com portal.
