Overview

Summary

The SC 116 (Laurel Bay) Pathway Repair Project includes repairs along an existing 10′ concrete shared-use path, approximately 3.417 miles long, that is located on the North side of Laurel Bay Rd from Trask Parkway (US 21) to Laurel Bay Housing Complex. The project will be located within SCDOT’s right of way for the entirety of the project.

Background

in 2024 Beaufort County constructed the pathway on SC 116 from US 21 to Laurel Bay Housing.

Over time, weather conditions, stormwater runoff, and erosion have caused sections of the pathway ditch slopes to deteriorate causing washouts and broken sidewalk.

Restoring and stabilizing the shoulders and repairing the pathway is a high priority for the County
