Background

Since 1980, Collier County, Florida has experienced a significant population growth rate that is anticipated to continue for the foreseeable future. Collier County Public Utilities Division is charged with providing water, wastewater, and irrigation quality water facilities necessary to accommodate the rapid development growth occurring in the northeast area of the County.

The need for additional facilities in the northeast was developed in the 2003 Water and Wastewater Master Plan Updates adopted by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) in May 2004.

Each year, the BCC confirms the need for and timing of the water and wastewater facilities by way of the Annual update and Inventory Report (AUIR).
