Description: James City County is soliciting Proposals for a new play area, featuring playground equipment, located at Chickahominy Riverfront Park. James City County considers this a “turnkey” project, with the Awarded Contractor responsible for all project phases from conception to completion. This work must include the following: Demolition and Disposal: All identified equipment within the projects scope must be demolished, removed and disposed of by the Awarded Vendor. Establish Foundations: Existing surfacing material and borders must be removed and replaced by Awarded Contractor. The suitability of the soil will be determined by the Awarded Contractor. Construction of New Playground Structures, Seating and Play Area: As agreed in the Executed Contract, and meeting the mandatory requirements. Theme: It is the preference of the County that this playground feature a theme complimentary to Chickahominy Riverfront Park, in which it inhabits. Acceptable themes and designs include camping, fishing, and outdoor/nature aesthetics. An optional site visit is scheduled for 10:00am, Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
