Description: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on the 11 th day of August 2026, in the City Council Chambers, 5160 Maple Drive, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, to consider two proposals for the City to dispose of a small portion of the NE 12 th Avenue right-of-way in the 4900 block and the entirety of the NE 52 nd Court right-of-way legally described as follows, respectively: A 27.00 FOOT WIDE PORTION OF EAST UNIVERSITY AVENUE RIGHT OF WAY THROUGH THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 34, TOWNSHIP 79 NORTH, RANGE 23, WEST OF THE 5 TH P.M., IN PLEASANT HILL, POLK COUNTY, IOWA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:  COMMENCING AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 34; THENCE N89°55’46” W ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SADI SECTION 34, A DISTANCE OF 874.68 FEET; THENCE N00°35’10”W, A DISTANCE OF 33.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE CONTINUING N00°35’10”W, A DISTANCE OF 27.00 FEET TO THE EXISTING NORTHLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF EAST UNIVERSITY AVENUE AS IT IS PRESENTLY ESTABLISHED; THENCE S89°55’46”E ALONG SAID NORTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE, A DISTANCE OF 385.03 FEET; THENCE S00°43’55”E, A DISTANCE OF 27.00 FEET; THENCE N89°55’46”W, A DISTANCE OF 385.10 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. and THAT PORTION OF NE 52 ND COURT IN LOT 2 OF THE OFFICIAL PLAT OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 34, TOWNSHIP 79 NORTH, RANGE 23 WEST OF THE 5 TH P.M., PLEASANT HILL, POLK COUNTY, IOWA, NORTH OF NE 12 TH AVENUE AND SOUTH OF THE FORMER RAILROAD ALL MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS: OUTLOT X IN SUNRIDGE PLAT No. 1, AN OFFICIAL PLAT AND A 20.00 FOOT WIDE STRIP OF LAND EAST OF AND ADJACENT TO SAID OUTLOT X AND A 20.00 FOOT WIDE STRIP OF LAND EAST OF AND ADJACENT TO PARCEL A AND PARCEL B AS SHOWN ON THE PLAT OF SURVEY RECORDED IN BOOK 7184 AT PAGE 841.
