Description: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS VILLAGE OF WESTMONT, ILLINOIS 1. Time and Place of Opening Bids. Sealed proposals for the construction of the 2026 Sidewalk Improvements project for the Village of Westmont, DuPage County, Illinois, will be received at the Public Works Department at 155 E Burlington Ave, Westmont, Illinois until 10:00 AM, Monday, August 24, 2026 and at that time will be publicly opened and unit price total read aloud. 2. Description of Work. The proposed construction consists of approximately 18,800 sf of sidewalk removal and replacement, 1500 sf of new sidewalk installation, detectable warnings, curb, associated restoration and other miscellaneous items of work. 3. Information for Bidders. Any contract or contracts awarded under this invitation for bids are expected to be funded in part by a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). This procurement will be subject to the Illinois Works Jobs Program Act (30 ILCS 559/), including the Illinois Works Apprenticeship Initiative and the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act (30 ILCS 575/). Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from Demandstar, www.demandstar.com , or downloaded from the Village of Westmont website, www.westmont.illinois.gov . Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor or determined by the court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workers, and mechanics performing work under this contract. The Village of Westmont is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the Village of Westmont for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid as provided in the Bidder Instructions. 4. Rejection of Bids. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the Bids are rejected for good cause, award of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder. Dated at Westmont, Illinois this 23rd day of July, 2026.
