REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) RFP: DPW - Sewer Pickup Truck

Bid Specifications

City of Claremont, New Hampshire

The City of Claremont’s Department of Public Works is soliciting formal proposals for the purchase of one (1) new 1-Ton pickup truck for municipal use. The vehicle shall be new, current production, and fully compliant with all applicable federal and state regulations.

Attached are the specifications for the vehicle and a Bid Sheet for you to submit your proposal.

- Proposal due date is Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at the Office of the City Manager, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743. Please mark "RFP - DPW - Sewer Pickup Truck" on the outside of the sealed envelope. Unsealed, late, emailed, or faxed proposals will not be accepted.

- Bid opening date is Friday, April 3rd, 2026, at 10:00 AM, located in City Council Chambers, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743.

Persons submitting proposals should note on the bid sheet any deviations from the specifications. Persons submitting should also note any options that in their opinion would be mission critical for its use in a municipal public works department. Any recommended options should be priced separately. INTRODUCTION

The City is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors for the furnishing and delivery of one (1) new 1-

Ton pickup truck for municipal use. The vehicle shall be new, current production, and fully compliant

with all applicable federal and state regulations.

SCOPE OF WORK

The successful proposer shall provide a complete, turnkey unit including chassis, body, powertrain,

electrical systems, lighting, controls, and all necessary accessories. The unit shall be fully assembled,

inspected, and ready for municipal service upon delivery.

GENERAL VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

Paint

• Red in color

o To closely match existing fleet

Chassis Configuration

• 1-Ton pickup truck

• Single rear wheel configuration

• GVWR appropriate for municipal payload requirements

• 4x4 four-wheel drive system

• Extended cab configuration

• Standard short pickup bed

Engine and Powertrain

• Gasoline (unleaded)

• Automatic transmission suitable for heavy-duty service

• Shift-on-the-fly 4WD transfer case

• Heavy-duty cooling system

• Trailer tow package

• Integrated trailer brake controller

• Limited slip or locking rear differential

Axles and Suspension

• Front axle rated for plow and accessory loads

• Rear axle rated for maximum payload capacity

• Heavy-duty suspension package

• Snowplow prep package

• Highest gear ratio available (for heavy-duty, in-town towing applications)

• Four-wheel disc brakes

• High-watt DC-to-AC inverter system with 120volt receptacles

• Backup alarm

• Provision for installation of warning/strobe lighting

• In-cab diagnostic interface

• Hide-away LED amber strobes in all four corners

o Must remain unobstructed with plow attached

• Cab mounted clearance lights

Operator Station

• 40/30/40 bench seat (vinyl, heavy-duty grade)

• HVAC system suitable for year-round use

• Heated mirrors

• Tilt steering

• Standard air bags

• OEM running boards

• Power windows and locks

• AM/FM radio with Bluetooth capability

• Instrumentation package including engine, transmission, and emissions monitoring

• Rubber/vinyl flooring preferred for municipal use

• OEM backup camera with built in display

• All-weather floor liners

• In-channel window vent visors

o Dealer installed on all four windows

Front Plow Equipment

• Front-mounted snowplow (9.5’) with heavy-duty mounting frame

o Stainless steel plow

• Hydraulic lift and angle control

• Spring-loaded trip edge

• Replaceable cutting edge

• Quick-attach mounting system

• In-cab electronic plow controls

Body and Frame

• Factory-installed pickup bed

• Spray-in bedliner

• Trailer hitch receiver (2” or 2.5”)

o With insert if needed

• 7-pin trailer connector

• Tow hooks (front)

• Corrosion-resistant undercoating treatment

Wheels and Tires

• Heavy-duty steel or aluminum wheels rated for intended loads

• All-terrain or all-season tires suitable for municipal operations

• Mounted on rear of truck with associated wiring

Headache Rack

• Cab-mounted DOT approved fire extinguisher

Warranty

Proposer shall provide:

• Manufacturer’s extended warranty for chassis and powertrain

Delivery

• Unit shall be delivered fully assembled, inspected, and ready for service

• Delivery timeline shall be clearly stated in proposal

Proposal Submission Requirements

Proposals shall include:

• Detailed specifications of proposed unit

• Itemized pricing

• Estimated delivery schedule

• Warranty documentation

Trade in Allowance

• There will be no equipment being traded toward the purchase of the new equipment. The

existing equipment will be sold on an auction site after delivery of new equipment.
