Project Description

The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program (MBNEP) is seeking proposals from local grassroots 501(c)(3) organizations for educational events or programs related to environmental protection or community resilience. Sponsorship amounts range from $500 - $2500. Sponsored activities must occur by September 30, 2025, and proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2025, submitted via email to Shemika Brown ( sbrown@mobilebaynep.com ).

The MBNEP Sponsorship Program aims to support grassroots organizations in educating and engaging local communities, especially those living closest to our natural resources, about the importance of protecting and sustaining Alabama’s coastal ecosystems.

MBNEP’s mission is to promote stewardship of Alabama’s coastal and estuarine resources, aiming for pollutant-free waters and enhanced community well-being. The Community Action Committee (CAC) of MBNEP, consisting of grassroots environmental organizations, is leading this initiative to support and strengthen local efforts across the Alabama coast. Organizations applying for funding must currently be a member of the Community Action Committee or willing to become a member of the committee.

Please see the attached document to request sponsorship.
