Request for Bid: UCSC Forest Health Phase 1 Demonstration Site

The RCDSCC invites contractors to bid on UCSC Demo Forest Health Project, a 12-acre forest stand improvement project permitted through the University of California Santa Cruz Wildfire Vegetation Management Project CalVTP Project Specific Analysis (PSA). See documents below. The project treatment will improve the health of redwood stands on UCSC Upper Campus and reduce fuels.

Treatments in the project area will include the removal of most trees and understory vegetation up to 8” DBH or 12” DBH depending on the treatment unit. 10 acres are treatable with equipment and 2 acres must be treated with hand work only. A goal of this project is to reduce stand density and fuel load.

There will be a mandatory pre-bid walk on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 2:00PM

Bids will be received until Friday, August 7, 2026 at 4:00PM. Bids may be submitted electronically to lbard@rcdsantacruz.org or brought to the District office at 2425 Porter St Suite 19 Soquel CA.
