Contractors intending on bidding are asked to bid in the Re-Bid Invitation For Bid Project #2025-IFB-026-GR247. ***
Made available by the community development block grant (CDGB) funding program, the City of Sierra Vista, in cooperation with Liberty Utilities, is seeking contractors to furnish and install fire hydrants in the Montebello Subdivision in Sierra Vista AZ.
Montebello subdivision is generally bounded by State Route (SR) 90 and Charleston Road and Colombo Avenue and Guilio Cesare Avenue. The scope of this project is to install as many hydrants as possible provided the budget. Please reference the project plans for specific hydrant locations.
The City is requesting the following: acquisition and installation of new, dry barrel hydrants, couplings, mainline, relevant fittings, gate valves, and all appurtenances relevant to the normal operation of fire hydrants. The scope of work for this shall include all asphaltic/cementitious concrete sawcut, removal, tack coat, and replacement; all trenching, shading, backfill, and compaction; and all relevant labor/miscellaneous materials required for the installation of these hydrants and restoration of the existing infrastructure.
It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to complete the work specified herewith and supply any incidental services or accessories necessary to make the work complete and perfect in all respects and ready for operation. Any apparatus, appliance, material, or work not shown on the drawing, but mentioned in the Specifications, or vice versa, or any incidental appurtenances necessary for the system to operate as to the intent of this Specification and those relevant Specifications of Liberty Utilities, even if not particularly specified, shall be included in the bid price and furnished, delivered, and installed by the Contractor without additional expense to the City of Sierra Vista. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining an approved right of way permit prior to commencement of work. All City right of way permitting fees will be waived.
BackgroundThis agreement is for services related to a project that is subject to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements under Title IX of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (“IIJA”), Pub. L. 177-58. Absent an approved waiver, all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States, as further outlined by the Office of Management and Budget’s Memorandum M-22-11, Initial Implementation Guidance on Application of Buy America Preference in Federal Financial Assistance Programs for Infrastructure, April 18,2022.
