It was the firstpublicly supported institution of higher education established in the Louisiana Purchase territory. Today, theUniversity of Missouri is one of the nation’s largest higher education institutions with more than 73,000 students,24,000 faculty and staff on four campuses, an extension program with activities in every county of the state, comprehensive distance learning services and an extensive health care network. Facts and figures about theUniversity of Missouri System can be found at https://www.umsystem.edu/about-us/facts.The University of Missouri (Mizzou) Planning, Design, and Construction currently stores all remaining paper copiesof record documents—including plans, specifications, shop drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals—inapproximately 1,000 square feet of space in the basement of GSB. The organization of these documents wasdisrupted by a relocation of storage in recent years and will require investigation and sorting before they can bescanned into a searchable, logical format. The department is in the process of developing a robust constructionand building information database, and we plan to incorporate the scanned documents into this system.Page 5 of 11 pagesDeadline: 3/24/2026 02:00 PM (CT)26-0102
