Village of AlgonquinVILLAGE OF ALGONQUINNOTICE TO BIDDERS2026 MFT Concrete Replacement ProgramThe Village Clerk of the Village of Algonquin, 2200 Harnish Road, Algonquin Illinois, 60102;will receive sealed bids until 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on May 12, 2026 for the 2026 MFTConcrete Replacement Program.Time and Place of Bid Opening:Notice is hereby given that the Village of Algonquin, Illinois, will receive sealed bids at theWilliam J. Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, Illinois 60102 until May 12,2026 at 10:00 a.m. CST for the 2026 MFT Concrete Replacement Program, at which time the bidswill be publicly opened and read. Bid proposals for this project will be considered not only on thebasis of cost, but also on past performance, experience and ability to perform the work. The Villageof Algonquin reserves the right to accept the bid deemed to be in its own best interest, which isbased on all of the above considerations. Bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidderdetermined in the exclusive discretion of the Village Board of Trustees.Description of Work:The Work is called 2026 MFT Concrete Replacement Program and shall consist of sidewalk, curband gutter, and driveway replacement at various locations in Algonquin, Illinois, as furtherdescribed in the contract documents for the said work prepared by the Village of Algonquin PublicWork Department.Available Contract Documents:The pertinent documents can be reviewed at the office of the Village Clerk, 2200 Harnish Dr.,Algonquin, IL 60102.Electronic copies of “2026 MFT Concrete Replacement Program” Plans, Specifications, andContract Documents may be obtained for free online at www.algonquin.org/bids (the project willbe listed near the bottom of the page). A compact disc of the information may also be obtained atthe Village of Algonquin, Office of the Village Clerk, Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 HarnishDrive, Algonquin, Illinois 60102, upon receipt of a $10.00 non-refundable deposit. If mailing isrequested an additional $5.00 deposit will be required.Bid Security:All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's checkpayable to the Village of Algonquin for 5% of the amount of the base bid as provided in the BiddingDocuments. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check.Submission and Format:Bids shall be made on the forms furnished by the Village and shall be submitted no later than thespecified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to: Village of Algonquin, Attention:Deputy Clerk, 2200 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, IL 60102. Envelopes should be clearly marked,“Sealed Bid – 2026 MFT Concrete Replacement Program.” The bids will be opened at this locationand read aloud. The Village of Algonquin reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof,A-1Village of Algonquinor waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of theVillage.Public Works:This contract calls for the construction of a “public works,” within the meaning of the IllinoisPrevailing Wage Act, 821 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. (“the Act”). The Act requires contractors andsubcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public worksprojects no less than current “prevailing rate of wages” (hourly cash wages plus amount for fringebenefits) in the county where the work is performed. The Illinois Department of Labor publishesthe prevailing wage rates on its website http://www.state.il.us/agency/idol/rates/rates.HTM. TheIllinois Department of Labor revises the prevailing wage rates and the contractor/subcontractorhas an obligation to check the Illinois Department of Labor website for revisions to prevailingwage rates. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the IllinoisDepartment of Labor’s website. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under thiscontract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including by not limited to, all wagerequirements and notice and record keeping duties.” Each bidder shall adopt a written sexualharassment policy in compliance with ILCS 5/2-105 (1992). Bidder agrees to comply withSubstance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act, 820 ILCS265/1 et seq. (2008). Asrequired by the Act, the Bidder agrees to file with the Village, prior to commencing work, itswritten substance abuse prevention program. It is the responsibility of thevendor/contractor/subcontractor to comply with all applicable provisions of FOIA. The regulationsof the State of Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 5 ILCS 140, apply to all records of thevendor/contractor/subcontractor pertaining to this authorization or contract.
