SummaryThe City of Richmond, Virginia (the “City”), on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities (“DPU”), seeks bids from qualified firms to provide general contracting services for two projects located at the City’s Water Treatment Plant. The Korah 1, Korah 2, and Korah 3 Pump Stations provide critical service to the City's water system. Each pump station has a unique set of work required to replace certain equipment (the “Work”). Specific details regarding the nature and prosecution of the Work are provided below in the Statement of Work.
BackgroundThe two projects are located in existing pump station buildings on the site of the City’s Water Treatment Plant. The water pumped through the Korah pump stations comprises most of the City's treated water, requiring high-capacity availability at all times. Due to the age of the various systems and obsolescence of multiple pieces of equipment, the Korah pump stations are currently contending with low efficiency and high cost of repair with extended downtimes. These projects are critical to restoring the pump stations to efficient and resilient operation.
