Bidder shall furnish all the informationrequired by the solicitation. The bidder’s name must be typed or printed on the bid sheet, and signed by the bidder orappropriate authorized executive officer of the bidder’s company. Bidders must initial any changes or erasures. Bidders shouldretain a copy of bids for their records.Bidders shall acknowledge receipt of all addenda to this solicitation by signing and returning each addendum or by identifyingthe addendum number and the date on the bid form. Failure to acknowledge receipt of any addendum by a bidder will resultin rejection of the bid if MAWSS determines that the addendum contains information that materially changes the requirements.All bids shall be quoted FOB Destination, freight prepaid with no additional charges. Unless otherwise specified in the bid, allprices will be on a firm-fixed price basis and are not subject to adjustments based on costs incurred. MAWSS reserves the rightto reject any or all bids submitted, to waive any informality in any bid or in the bid process, or to terminate the bid process atany time, if deemed by MAWSS to be in MAWSS’s best interest.A Purchase Order and this “Invitation for Bid” with “Specifications,” “Conditions,” “Bid Form,” signed by the successful bidder’sauthorized representative, and all attached drawings and other documents furnished by MAWSS to the bidders with theInvitation for Bid in order to illustrate the contract requirements, will constitute a contract for the goods and/or services to bepurchased.IFB 24-026 Vertical Turbine Pump RepairPage 1 of 12IFB 26-007 VERTICAL TURBINE PUMP REPAIRCONDITIONSThe Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners of the City of Mobile will accept bids for the Vertical Turbine Pump Repair inour Purchasing Department Bid Box located in the Business Entrance at 4725 Moffett Road, Mobile, AL. 36618 no later than10:30 a.m. local time on January 30, 2026. Bids will be opened immediately after bid closing time in the Operations CenterBoard room located at the Customer Service entrance. Award will be by Total Cost and Lead Time. The bidder offers and agrees,if this bid is accepted, to furnish the items as defined in the specifications for the unit price set opposite each item. Pricing shallbe FOB Mobile, Alabama. All items shall be delivered to our CC Williams WWTP located at 1600 Yeend St., Mobile, AL 36603or to the job site as needed. The bidder shall state the expected length of delivery/repair time on the Bid Form.A site visit is strongly encouraged. Items of equalor better quality will be considered but must be approved by MAWSS in writing. Upon delivery, if the quality, durability orperformance of any product represented as equal or better is determined by MAWSS to be unsatisfactory, MAWSS will requirea suitable substitute or will require that the originally specified item be delivered, at the unit price originally offered by bidder.No substitution for items to be provided pursuant to this contract shall be permitted during the contract period without theexpress written consent of MAWSS. All items provided shall be for commercial use and for the purposes reflected in thecontract documents.No bid on closed out or discontinued item(s) will be accepted. Item(s) that have a determinable shelf life must be disclosed atthe time of bid submittal. Bidder understands that his/her bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty(60) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. Bidder understands and agrees that quantities will bepurchased by MAWSS on an “as needed” basis to replenish inventory. MAWSS shall not be committed to the purchase of apre-established minimum quantity for any one item.A bidder may not modify its bid after bid opening. Errors in the extension of unit prices stated in a bid or in multiplication,division, addition or subtraction in a bid may be corrected by the MAWSS Purchasing Buyer prior to award. In such cases, unitprices shall not be changed.It is the responsibility of the bidder to determine prior to the bid opening whether any amendment, additions, deletions orchanges of any type have been made to this Invitation for Bid, Conditions, Specifications, Bid Form or any of the other biddocuments. C. Williams WWTP. The repair will restore the pump to reliable operatingcondition and ensure performance consistent with manufacturer specifications.Referenced Specifications and StandardsWhere applicable, the standards and practices identified within the following documents shall befollowed unless otherwise specified herein.A. ISO-Std. 1940-1, Mechanical Vibration- Balance Quality Requirements of Rigid RotorsF. NEMA- Std. MG-1-2009, Motors and GeneratorsG. ABMA- ANSI/ABMA Std. 7, Shaft and Housing Fits for Metric Radial ball and Roller BearingsH. National Electrical Code (NEC)I. National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA)DeliverablesUnder this task the successful bidder will deliver to MAWSS the following:1. One vertical turbine pump rebuilt to the specifications listed herein, and capable of meetingOEM pumping requirements:a. 17,500 GPMb. 30’ TDHc. 200 BHPd. 720 RPM2. Safe and successful installation of the pump that includes an installation report certifyingproper installation of the pump.4. A 2-year warranty covering labor and material costs should the pump fail to work properlyduring the warranty period as a result of defective parts used by successful bidder and/orsubcontractors, and workmanship performed by successful bidder and/or subcontractors.a. 2-year warranty documentation must be included with installation report.5. A Pump Repair Report must be provided with the repaired pump within 10 business days ofinstallation. The report must contain, at a minimum, the following:a. A narrative that describes the work performed to disassemble and rebuild the pumpincluding descriptions of testing and measurements made during the process.b. All photographs taken throughout the repair should be included.i. Embed labeled photographs in narrative as necessary to show specificdefects and rebuild conditions.c. An itemized invoice identifying cost per unit of all charged costs, including receiptsfrom all material and parts-suppliers explicitly identifying make, model number,quantities and prices of parts.Scope of WorkPertaining to all subparts herein, detailed photographs shall be taken of the pump throughout therepair process and installation process to be supplied to MAWSS in accordance with Item 5 of thebid deliverables.Transportation1. Transportation of the unit from there to the successful bidder’s repair facility shall beincluded in the bid price. All transportation shall require insurance for the full value of theunit.a. Pump shall be transported from the C.C. Williams Wastewater Treatment Plantlocated at 1600 Yeend St, Mobile, AL 36603 to the successful bidder’s repair facility.Repair and Machining1. Bidder should contact the pump manufacturer for detailed information about pumpdimensions and other manufacturer specifications for bidding purposes.2. Successful bidder shall confirm all dimensions and materials when pump is disassembled.3. Supply and install new bowl assembly; machine and bore bowl to nominal size. Completenew bowl assembly must be furnished and installed to meet OEM design specifications.4. The new bowl assembly will include the following new OEM parts:a. Cast iron tube adapterb. Iron bowlc. Stainless-steel impeller thrust ring, retainer, and stainless-steel boltsj. Split key5. Replace Inner Column Tubes and Inner Column Tube Bushings / Bearings with new.6. Replace all 416 stainless steel shafts (Motor, Head, Middle Line, Lower Line, and Bowl) withnew 416 stainless steel shafts.7. Replace all Line Shaft Couplings with new 410 stainless-steel couplings.8. Replace Head Nut (1) with new.9. Replace Center Ring (1) with new.10. Replace flush line with new stainless-steel flush pipe to suction bell bearing. The flush pipewill go through the pump base plate. The pipe will have brackets connected to the columnand bowl flange for support.11. Replace Flush Water Pressure Gauge (1) with new. Pressure gauge should be stainless steelliquid filled gauge containing expected pressure ranges as defined by the pumpmanufacturer.12. Replace Mechanical Seal (1) with new.a. Mechanical seal must be certified by the manufacturer to meet the pumpingapplication requirements.b. Successful bidder to provide mechanical seal water requirements >2 weeks beforepump delivery such that seal water requirements can be prepared before installation.13. Replace Throttle Bushing (1) with new.14. Replace Adapter Bowl to Bowl Bushing (1) with new.Painting and Finish1. Exteriora. Discharge head will be painted using Sherwin Williams’ SW7663 Monorail Silver witha two-part epoxy equivalent to manufacturer’s original coating.b. Columns below discharge head will be coated with coal tar epoxy in two coatsc. Preparation of substrate and application of coatings shall be in strict accordancewith coating manufacturer’s requirements.i) Photographs of substrate before and after application shall be provided in thepump repair report supplied to MAWSS.2. Interiora. Discharge head water passage will be coated with Belzona 5811 immersion gradecoating. No exceptions.b. Coat ID of columns below discharge head with Belzona 5811 immersion gradecoating. No exceptions.c. Belzona coatings shall be applied only by Belzona trained technicians and in strictaccordance with Belzona requirements.d.
