Overview

Summary

The purpose of this project is to upgrade vehicle detection systems at ten (10) signalized intersections. Existing low performing video and/or inductive loop stop bar detection systems will be replaced with modern detection devices that provide multi-functional capabilities to include presence detection, advanced detection, and traffic monitoring.

In order to be considered for award, all prospective bidders shall be pre-qualified with the Virginia Department of Transportation in accordance with Section 102.01 of VDOT’s 2020 Road and Bridge Specifications. Background

All Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted no later than Tuesday, July 21, 2026 4:00 pm through the Questions portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/norfolk/projects/279400 . Any RFI submitted after this date cannot be guaranteed a response by the City.
