SCOPE OF SERVICES:

Lawn mowing of the entire Wolf Swamp Athletic Field facility with seasonal field height

adjustment mowing:

Mowing of all athletic fields and non-athletic field areas including mowing height adjustments for

Field Hockey fields as requested during the regular full mowing cycle.

Paid based on individual mowings completed, and billed at the contract price per

complete mowing as submitted on the quote submission form.

Contractor to provide equipment, labor and supplies for mowing of the entire Wolf Swamp Athletic

Field facility including all athletic fields and non-athletic field areas. The mowing area includes the

mowing of the athletic fields, mowing of grass that extends beyond the athletic fields including

concession area, spectator areas, grass up to the surrounding land boarders of The Property, grass

surrounding parking lot areas, and grass up to and abutting Wolf Swamp Road.

The Contractor will provide equipment, labor and supplies for the mowing of ALL grass areas located

at the Wolf Swamp Athletic Field facility, ‘The Property’- 704 Wolf Swamp Road, Longmeadow

MA.

There will be approximately twenty-nine (29) lawn mowings of The Propery per year. The quantities

listed in this bid is an estimated number of lawn mowings per year. The number of actual mowings

per year may vary depend on the growth of the grass and when lawn mowing is required. The unit

price as bid will be the contract unit price per mowing during the entire contract. The contractor will

only bill the Town for each full mowing actually performed and completed.

The bid pricing per mowing will include all expenses of mowing including regularly collecting and

removing grass mowing clippings and leaves (year-round, including spring and fall seasonal leaf

removal), and edge trimming on the Property. The Town will not pay extra for fuel surcharges,

seasonal startup and shutdown services, and expenses such as legal disposal of leaves and clippings

off site, other charges and fees.

Occasionally the Contractor will be required to make mowing height adjustments for various sports

fields. These field specific mowing height adjustments, as requested, will be performed by the

Contractor during their regular full mowing cycle of the athletic field mowing. There will be no

additional charge for mowing height adjustment requests. Any fee associated with making mowing

height adjustments shall be factored into the bid unit price per mow as submitted on the bid

submission form.

A plan of the various fields is supplied on the following page. Mowing heights for seasonal sport

fields include:

All grass clippings are required to be bagged/collected and disposed of offsite through the

Contractor’s own source.

Mowing services shall be coordinated so the service is performed at times that do not conflict with

scheduled athletic programing and practice sessions.

Bidders should inspect the site. Any area that has grass or has soil with seed grass growing requires

the full mowing. The unit price as bid will be the contract price for the contract.

This is a request for quote only. No bid deposit is required. The service requested is for only mowing

of the lawn. Prevailing wage is not required. The awarded contractor will be required to complete a

Town of Longmeadow contract and supply a certificate of insurance.

All other athletic field maintenance and grass treatments are being provided under a different contract.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The awarded contractor must have one full year of experience providing landscaping services,

specifically mowing services. The bidder must provide references from comparable mowing

service clients. These references will be used for the Town to perform reference checks to confirm

the low bidder that is qualified, responsive and responsible for contact award.
