Slide Gate Replacement - Invitation to Bid

The City of Winooski is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal and

replacement of an existing aluminum slide gate system, including installation of a new

double slide gate, operator, and associated work.

Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, when they will be

publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above-stated time and date will not

be considered.

Bidders must schedule a site visit to inspect the work before submitting the bid. Site visits

may be scheduled by contacting the DPW Deputy Director:

Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Slide Gate Replacement Bid” to the

1. PROJECT OVERVIEW

The City of Winooski is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal and

replacement of an existing aluminum slide gate system, including installation of a new

double slide gate, operator, and associated work.

2. SCOPE OF WORK

The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to

complete the work, including:

 Removal and disposal of existing 30-foot aluminum slide gate

 Installation of new 30-foot double aluminum slide gate (2 – 15-foot leaves)

 Installation of new electric gate operator on left-side gate

 Relocation of existing 4’ x 6’ man gate to right side

 Installation of posts and concrete foundations

 City will provide electrical service work if required.

 Restore all disturbed areas to pre-construction condition

 Contractor shall verify all field conditions prior to bidding

 Testing, adjustments, and commissioning

 Minimum 1-year workmanship warranty

9. PAYMENT

Payment will be made within thirty (30) days following receipt of a complete and approved

invoice, and acceptance of the work by the City.

10. CONTRACTOR INFORMATION

An authorized manufacturer and/or owner representative must sign this proposal to

become valid. By affixing a signature, it is acknowledged that the signatory has reviewed

the bid specifications and conditions and thoroughly understands them. It is also understood

that the City of Winooski reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids submitted,

waive any informalities, and accept the bid deemed to be in the City's best interest,

regardless of price.
