Description: Sealed Bids for the construction of the “City of Westfield, Southwick Road Multi-Modal Improvements” will be received by the Office of Procurement, 59 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085 until 2:00 p.m. local time on March 26, 2026 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Sealed Bids must have outer envelope marked as “City of Westfield, Southwick Road Multi-Modal Improvements.” The work consists of a base bid and alternative, from the bid documents Base Bid – Southwick Road Improvements installing a bump out with RRFBs, cement concrete sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps, granite curbing, drainage improvements, associated lawn repairs, and restriping of the roadway to include buffered bike lanes. Alternate 1 – Crane Avenue and Mill Street Improvements consists of full depth reconstruction on Crane Avenue and mill & overlay of Mill Street and Crane Avenue intersection, cement concrete sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps, granite curbing, drainage improvements, and associated lawn repairs. Bids shall be on a unit price basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Business Hours: m-f 8:30 to 4:30 Fax Number: 413-572-1708 Qualifications: This project is partially funded by the Shared Streets and Spaces Grant Program and the Chapter 90 Program and is subject to all applicable regulations. This Contract contains price adjustments for hot mix asphalt mixes, diesel fuel, gasoline, and Portland cement contained in concrete. See the Special Provisions for payment procedures and base prices for this Project. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, Highway – Sidewalk and Curbing, for the project with an estimated value of $848,000 will be required.
