SCOPE OF SERVICESGENERALo All work will be performed in a professional manner by experienced and well-trained,personnel.o The practices and procedures employed will be according to accepted industry standardsin the cemetery headstone repair an restoration profession.o All mechanized equipment must be turned off if you encounter the public (within 20feet).o No mechanized equipment may be used within 200 feet of a funeral in progress.o The Contractor will train crew members to respect the solemn dignity of the cemetery,o Any damage to cemetery, including but not limited to monuments, markers ormemorials will be the responsibility of the Contractor.o The Contractor shall list prior experience and be required to provide three (3) referencesdemonstrating successful completion of similar work.o The Contractor is required to demonstrate that they consistently perform work using thehighest quality of workmanship.o The Contractor is required to demonstrate that they own or has access to the equipmentrequired to perform the work.o Time Frame of work to be done: Start date June 10, 2026 Finish date October 31, 2026.Page 1 of 4GENERAL INFORMATIONProposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope with the contractor’s name, address and phone number.Proposals received after the stated deadline shall not be accepted. Proposal packages are to be deliveredto:Town of HartfordAttn: Town Manager, John Haverstock171 Bridge StreetWhite River Junction, VT 05001Clearly marked and sealed envelope(s) - “Christian Street Cemetery”NOTE:A scheduled site tour will begin at the Christian Street Cemetery at 9:00a.m. on May 15, 2026.Estimated duration of the site tour is 1 hour. The expense of preparingand submitting a proposal is solely the responsibility of the Contractor. The Town reserves the right toreject any or all proposals received, to negotiate with any qualified source, or to cancel in part or in itsentirety this RFP as deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Hartford. This solicitation in no wayobligates the Town to award a contract.By submission of the Bid, BIDDER certifies that bid has been arrived at independently, withoutconsultation, commitment, or agreement as to any matter relating to Bid with any other BIDDER or withany competition.The Scope of Work by the Contractor for each item shall include furnishing all supervision, technicalpersonnel, layout, labor, materials, tools, appurtenances, equipment, disposal sites and services,mobilization/demobilization, insurances, and services required to perform the work as described in thisRequest for Bids.INSURANCE REQUIREMENTSWORKERS COMPENSATION:The Contractor is required to carry full and complete Workers Compensation insurance for all employeesengaged in work on this project. The same requirements for Workers Compensation insurance shall applyto any subcontractor engaged on this project. The Contractor shall, prior to a Purchase Order beingissued, produce a certificate of insurance demonstrating same to the Town. The Contractor shall keepsaid insurance, and the Town’s additional insured status, in full force throughout the course of the project.This Certificate of Insurance does not have to be provided at the time bids are submitted.The Contractor must show evidence of Workers Compensation and Employers Liability InsuranceCoverage.GENERAL LIABILITY:The Contractor shall supply the Town with a Certificate of Insurance showing liability coverage no lessthan $1,000,000. The Contractor shall cause the Town to be made an additional insured on thePage 2 of 4Contractor’s liability insurance, on a primary and non-contributing basis. The Contractor shall, prior to aPurchase Order being issued, produce a certificate of insurance demonstrating same to the Town. TheContractor shall keep said insurance, and the Town’s additional insured status, in full force throughout thecourse of the project.
