This RFI does not constitute a solicitation,does not obligate the State to issue a future solicitation, and will not result in the award of acontract.2. BACKGROUND:The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services operates facilities throughout the state thatprovide care and services to children and youth. As part of its commitment to nutrition, foodquality, and support of Tennessee agriculture, DCS is exploring opportunities to source locallygrown fresh food products for use in its facilities.DCS is particularly interested in understanding the market capabilities of Tennessee-basedproducers and distributors, including participants in the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’sPick TN Products program.
