To fill a niche for an agile and flexible research consortium, Pelagic Research Group LLC was founded to design post-release mortality studies in fisheries, bycatch mitigation studies, conduct meta-analyses on mortality rates and bycatch to inform management and future research and to design and optimise electronic tagging experiments. PRG brings a blend of ¡°hands-on¡± field and laboratory experiences in marine and freshwater biology with strong cross-disciplinary core competencies in analytics, research, meta-analysis, and cost-benefit. For each new project, PRG assembles and works with leading pelagic biologists and researchers with state, federal, academic institutions, NGOs, and non-profits to maximise project goals and deliverables. PRG is committed to produce novel research of high scholarly achievement to better inform management but also to save precious research funds by reducing overhead costs and designing better studies.
