Academy Street, Cary, NC 27513, Cary, North Carolina. Bids will be opened andread publicly for the furnishing of materials, labor, and equipment for theconstruction of Swift Creek Pump Station Electrical Improvement, Project No.SW1389. A brief project description is as follows:- Demolition of the pump station old wet well side 575V control system asdescribed in the construction plans- Procurement and installation of the new 480V control system items withphased installation plan as described in the construction plansPlans, Specifications and Contract documents may be viewed electronicallyat http://townofcary.contractorsplanroom.com upon registering online after May 22,2026. Hard copies of Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be viewedat the office of the Director of Utilities, Cary Town Hall, and Swift Creek PumpStation, 7802 Holly Springs Road, Cary, NC, 27518 after May 22, 2026. Thefollowing agencies have been notified of the project: the Associated GeneralContractors – Raleigh office, McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge, the North CarolinaInstitute of Minority Economic Development – Durham office, and the CDC News –Cary office after May 22, 2026.An in-person MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held at Swift Creek PumpStation, 7802 Holly Springs Road, Cary, NC, 27518 with the Owner at 10:00am onJune 3, 2026, to discuss the project and answer pertinent questions.The Town of Cary is not responsible for bidders relying on incomplete biddocuments.Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed to do thespecified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. All bids must include anon-collusive affidavit. These proposals shall be plainly marked:“Swift Creek Pump Station Electrical Improvement , Town of Cary ProjectNo. SW1389“.The envelope shall also be marked with the Bidder’s name, address,North Carolina contractor license number, and name and phone number of acontact person.Each proposal shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Townof Cary for an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid;or in lieu of the Bid Bond, the bidder may offer the bid deposit in the form of acashier’s check, or a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by theFDIC. The bid bond must be executed by a corporate surety licensed in NorthCarolina. The bid deposit may be held for a period of sixty (60) days pendingaward of the contract. Notification of award of contract shall be evidence of intentto contract and shall extend time for holding the contractor's bid surety for a timemutually agreed between the Town of Cary and the bidder.An in-person MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held at Swift CreekPump Station, 7802 Holly Springs Road, Cary, NC, 27518 with the Owner at10:00am on June 3, 2026, to discuss the project and answer pertinent questions.Bidders are required to attend and participate in the conference. The projectmanager will respond to all questions arising at the pre-bid meeting and thosereceived in writing prior to the bid opening via Addendum. No oral interpretationswill be made as to the meaning of the Contract Documents. Interpretation, ifdeemed necessary, will be in the form of a written Addendum.The award of the Contract, if it is awarded, will be to the lowestresponsive, responsible bidder whose qualifications indicate the award will be inthe best interest of the Town of Cary (Owner). The Town of Cary reserves theright to waive technicalities and/or reject any or all proposals.A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of onehundred percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approvedby the Town of Cary, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract.Bidders shall provide certification that performance and payment bond suretiesare licensed in North Carolina.All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract documents shallbe submitted in writing to Yang Song, PE, PhD, Project Manager, via emailyang.song@carync.gov. Replies will be issued by Addenda, mailed or deliveredto all parties recorded by the Engineer as having received the BiddingDocuments. Questions received less than five business days prior to the date foropening of Bids may not be answered.
